Ban Roundup! Ban glyphosate! It's poisoning our people, butterflies, and other insects, the land and the water.

Brazil is also a pioneer in the use of herbicide resistant Roundup-Ready (RR) soybeans. Roundup is a broad-spectrum herbicide whose main ingredient is glyphosate. The RR soybeans are genetically modified to be glyphosate resistant, so farmers can drench the crops with Roundup.

Sarah Agapito, an agronomist “There is already scientific evidence that the production of RR soybeans has contributed to the emergence of weeds resistant to glyphosate,” Agapito said. She said farmers end up with additional costs, needing to apply more Roundup or other herbicides

Glyphosate is not poisoning people, butterflies and other insects. It's an herbicide that kills weeds, and banning it will make growers resort to older and more toxic herbicides. Please speak with a farmer or agricultural scientist. I'm in Hawaii and happy to have a conversation.

Here is a good article on the effects on human health, particularly on the digestive system. I find it very suspicious that the rise in the rate of digestive disorders (& autism) has coincided with the use of Glyphosate on our food supplyhttps://www.bodyhealth.com/blogs/news/glyphosate-in-your-body …

I guess we do already have anti-science people running it. Might as well have someone pushing the above anti-science position to take the reins. Won't make things much different.

Yep, the world just wants to balance things out I guess. Really, truly love your anti-war platform but this is just misinformation, plain and simple. So many candidates on the left buy into the fear mongering on biotech and pesticides. It's a bitter pill to swallow.

Agree GMOs need to be carefully pursued, weeds are a problem without herbicides but sustainable farming systems can be built with minimal use. But 100s of tons of insecticides are used for no reason. We market chems in developing countries when banned in US.
