Low wages cost U.S. taxpayers $153 billion a year in public benefits! If employers paid a living wage this wouldn't happen. Socialism for shareholders. Bootstrap capitalism for those who can't afford boots.

Big public corporations are a minority of employers in the USA. $15 an hour is going to put a hard squeeze on many small businesses. Especially restaurants and other food business that typically have thin margins.

Damn Tusli. I want to get on board with your campaign, but minimum wage is a bad idea. It crushes small business and moves us towards more automation.
-
I would argue automation is happening anyways. Eventually machines will cost less than paying a worker $1. Minimum wage needs to be guaranteed at a certain level, especially with the price of housing and college and other areas rising.

This hurts jobs and people. Anyone who takes Econ 101 knows this.
-
Would be true in an ideal world where all econ 101 assumptions are met, which in reality aren't.

Competing against rising inflation and costs of living has become the burden of each citizen. Raising the minimum wage, makes it difficult and often impossible for small businesses to compete. As the number one employer, this mostly benefits the largest businesses.
-
Actually raising the minimum wage has helped small businesses most. For the simple reason, people have more to spend. Inflation will eat away at costs raise or no raise. The only way to combat this is by reattaching productivity and wage increases.

Why not $1,000 per hour, if there is no downside?

Many places $15 is a token gesture. Seattle, SF, LA, NYC, you cannot afford rent on $15. Real cost of living adjustments must be made. Allowing mega-Corp parasites to ruin livability must be curbed.

The antiwar message is what separates you as a candidate. Economics is clearly not a strength.pic.twitter.com/qjtcR3Q0Ad

Like Trump and the mostly extinct anti-war left, she’ll fold on the anti-war stunt the second the last ballot is cast.

This is not about what Worker’s deserve, it’s what business will/won’t pay, the $15 min. wage tells businesses to take their jobs to other states, or countries, which they will surely do, thus causing the 2 job person to have NO JOBS in the long run. Sorry, but thats the reality.

There was a time when employers would train their employees to meet these requirements. That doesn’t happen anymore.
