It's fear that teaches us to hate, Ms. Gabbard. It's fear that we need to push back against. If we do that, there will be no reason to hate.
Mandela wanted to see a free Palestine. Patiently waiting for Tulsi to proclaim this as well! All we want is equal rights for all.
to Tulsi and Aloha ~
To all those crying "necklacing." Colonials aren't the victim, especially not in this case. Decades of occupation, theft, and ethnic cleansing calls for harsh punishment.
Being so controversial ,you can’t admire Mandela ,while your idol is Assad
Her Idol isn't Assad, dude. Just because she doesn't want American troops and tax payer dollars used for regime change, doesn't mean she supports a dictator. She agrees charges should be brought in ICC. It's not America's job to police the world.
did he make that statement before or after supporting necklacing?
I think that was his wife that did that
Strong women with a clear mind....whose understand where is goodness and how we can use in our own believe and a way to fight madness or evil and hide our fears....that is our mission...until one day endex is declare, but first...there is no truce and we continue the march..
Good words but what are we doing about our own POLITICAL PRISONER'S? In an extreme moral failure, @BarackObama left Leonard Peltier( America'a Mandela) high and dry! You should advocate for immediate FREEDOM. Remember Standing Rock!https://youtu.be/8RRpO81CS5Y
There is learning to hate and there is hatred based on inaccessible goals due to perceived obstructions whether they are real or not.
I thought I heard someone say something about hating what we don't understand too? That's not really taught, more like just another primitive instinct that creeps up into our psyche. Kind of like tribalism does. Not saying that's the root of racism, but definitely a part of it.
There was a wonderful musical, South Pacific that had the following line in one of its songs: "You've got to be taught to hate and fear, you've got to be drummed from ear to ear, you've got to be carefully taught, you've got to be carefully taught." I think Enzio Pinza sung it.
@dawn_ley The hate/fear has deep roots in religions, literature, critical thought. From Sinclair Profits of Religion: 'the effect of fixed dogma produces mental paralysis then used for economic exploitation." More: Kazin's On Native Grounds, Chap 10/11. Book needs to be written
