I know that LGBTQ+ people still struggle, are still facing discrimination, are still facing abuse and still fear that their hard-won rights are going to be taken away by people who hold views like I used to.

Aloha. Will you acknowledge that Assad is a mass murdering thug and that your virtual embrace of him was, shall we say, sickening? Also will you comdemn Putin and his cohorts, including China, for attacking our sovereignty or nah?

The chemical weapons in Syria were from the United States. There was a UN report that came out in 2012-2013 that stated there was a high probability they came from the US. We were running guns through Turkey to arm the rebels who attacked Damascus. Andrew, Know your facts.

_An apology is just the first step to regaining public trust. She's in the awkward position of publicly disavowing hers & her father's evil hate-groups; _ or rejecting LGBTQ people & their rights. She can't stay on both sides.

Because of the Gabbards and their money, the proposition to pass gay-marriage was defeated in 1998. We had to wait until 2013 for the Hawaii Supreme Court to force it into law.

I repeat: Apologies motivated by AMBITION don’t count. Only those that come from the heart. Close your exploratory now. You’re wasting people’s valuable time and money.

As a lesbian I appreciate your regret. That said, if you truly understand the harm & pain that you words & actions caused to so many, why did you wait until now to apologize? Why not 5 years ago? 2 years ago? Last year? The timing of this is more than suspect. Thanks but no.

The transformation of values is fine. Learning from your mistakes is good. I prefer intrinsic good values. Someone with a long history of always knowing and doing the right thing.
@TulsiGabbard is not that person. I think her apology is predictable, studied and unconvincing. -
I prefer people who have grown. That shows experience and a willingness to self reflect.

I don’t believe that opinions like that change so easily, unless it’s politically convenient...

They don’t change easy. They take years. I know I used to be evangelical and now am a progressive stalwart. But 6 years of votes is evidence of transformation.

Already had my respect as a fellow soldier and combat veteran. This was genuine, heartfelt and sincere and while a small fraction of the lgbt community might not believe her or feel it’s not enough, I do. I look forward to supporting her and her campaign. I salute you ma’am!

There is a big difference between evolving views and being a bigoted activist fighting to deny basic human rights- recognized constitutional rights - of fellow Americans. This makes you unqualified to be a congresswoman let alone President.

Now address your support for Assad. And your anti-Islamic comments... and your support for Narendra Modi.
