Today an estimated 800,000 federal employees will miss their first paychecks of the year. Families are suffering. Our country is less safe. The impact of this shutdown is real.

Trump should stop acting like a spoiled brat who can't have a toy, and McConnell should stop acting like his lap-dog. We don't need a useless wall, there are infinitely more things that we could spend that money on that would be far more beneficial.

Must not be that important, congress has left town for the weekend. Maybe before you give billions in foreign aide you should take care of Americans first.

Congress regularly funds enormous military budgets responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people, but won’t fund a fraction to limit the movement of others over our own border? This is just BS political posturing that is hurting rank and file government workers.

Yes and they’re the ones that don’t want to do their damn jobs... all they know is how to grandstand... Our borders should’ve been taken care of during Reagan and definitely during Bush after 9/11... there’s no excuse for it

We live in a word, where politicians view the opposing politicians as enemies and they view compromise as weakness. There should be a law for government shutdown that would suspend paychecks for members of Congress and their staff. They are the one, who don’t do their jobs..

The impact of thousands of people many of them are human traffickers, drug dealers, MS13 and other bad actors. We have a legal immigration system which does keep us safe. There is nothing wrong with protecting borders.
