I'm sorry but if you really believe global warming is this dangerous shouldn't you be trying to get people off of island Nations and states considering they keep telling us sea levels will rise and devastate coastal regions? Why would we pump money into states like Hawaii?

Because although they will lose significant amount of shoreline, they will not be entirely sunken for thousands of years. Sea levels are already rising gradually, you will only take notice after many years though.
