Or you could register to the party you want to participate in. Being independent is a choice you made, the result of which is not getting a vote in the primary. But YOU made that choice, and if you want a primary vote you can make a different one.

so does refusing to debate your primary opponent. Remember when you 'quit' the DNC because of it?

Really have to disagree with this one. If my local VFW elects a new commander, than I don't think the general public has a right to vote - just the members of the VFW. Same with political parties or any private org. What about unions? Should non-members vote for leaders?

Wait, why should republicans be able to vote in a democratic primary? Just stop acting superior with your "unaffiliated" registration. Nobody thinks you're cool.

AT LEAST 42% of voters are independent voters. More than Democrats or Republicans. Also, Tulsi has never been "unaffilliated" she's a Democrat, unfortunately.https://news.gallup.com/poll/225056/americans-identification-independents-back-2017.aspx …

Open primaries are chaos. No one wins. It's so easy to choose a party affiliation. No one is cheated if they chose 'Unaffiliated', it was their choice.

It is a two-party problem. To be fair, I have no party affiliation & it would be unfair of me to tell a party who they must nominate for election. If there is someone I really believe should be elected, that person can be nominated by a party that isn't from the two major parties

We won't have a multi-party system until we establish proportional representation.

I am an unaffiliated voter. Ds and Rs should be free to limit their primary voters to whom they choose. If I want to vote in primaries I can always affiliate with either party. Giving those in control of the gov the ability to dictate how parties operate is a terrible idea.

They're NOT barred. All they have to do is pick party affiliation by the deadline. I've lived in open primary states & people play game with votes by jumping party lines. Happened in NH. I live in FL & like our primaries as do most Dems. No thanks. Stay out of my states business.

So Ohio State should get to help pick the head coach for Michigan? Oh, you mean people who aren’t part of either college should get to determine who’s hired as coach. Shouldn’t the (D) next to your title have “INO” after it?

You should really run 3rd party. My wife and I wrote you
@TulsiGabbard@TulsiPress for President in the last election. We need another option and you represent that. -
I am all for people who do not want to be aligned with the D or R parties to create their own and raise the money themselves.
