I fell off a roof in 1995. Got hooked on Oxy for 13 years. It destroyed my life. The back injury didn't help, but by the time I went cold turkey( I don't recommend doing that, it was the most horrible 2 months of my life) there was little left of my old life

Wow poor situation. I grew up in Australia and their system would have seen you get the care you needed with Government intervention. Our health funds are not for profit. I was on a very high plan that gave rebates on Optical, dental, Physio, Chiro etc . all for $650 per quarter.
