Dear Megha, you & everyone know perfectly well that the current backlog of IND applicants + dependents is more than 630,000. There are only 140,000 EB grn crds issued/yr. Moreover, in EB2/3 categories, only 40K/yr. Therefore, JUST to get thru current IND backlog wld tk 7-10 yrs.

Accordingly, how convenient that there is no need to actually SAY in the bill itself "this is an India-First" policy, when it is patently clear that the EFFECT of enacting HR392/S281 would be to guarantee a virtual IND monopoly on EB immg for the next decade & perhaps beyond...

This is not to say that there aren't many worthy folks in the IND bklog & those deserve to be processed soon! But unfortunately the vast maj of this bklog is directly linked what we all knw has been yrs of rampant gaming of the H1B sys by bad actors (not all but too many)...
