1/6 The organized left is lying about a segment we did on Friday night. Our topic was "diversity is our strength," a phrase our leaders use to end conversation rather than spur it. You hear it all the time. We asked, what exactly does it mean? Is it true?

4/6 These are the questions our leaders out to be asking every day. How does a nation of 325 million people hang together? What do we all have in common as Americans? Why should we remain a country? Nothing is more important than answering this.

5/6 But our leaders aren't even asking these questions. Instead they're trying to silence anyone who raises them, while at the same time promoting mindless tribalism for political expedience. Division keeps them in power.

6/6 What's at stake isn't a cable news segment. It's the existence of rational conversation in America. If they can prevent you from asking honest questions, there's nothing they can't do. More on this tomorrow night.

“...If you can’t understand each other and share no common values” is a false assumption and belies a very negative view of diversity, not the questioning/impartial tone you’re seeking to claim here. Diversity builds empathy, reveals commonalities, instills antifragility

FYI, this Country was built on diversity. It is our strength. Hello, how do you the the Irish, Italians, Germans, etc got here? Are you sure you know your American history. Idiots

Yes. We do. Portuguese, Spanish, Eastern European languages flow here. The only ones we have to coddle are the entitled English-only people who whine about while collecting their unemployment checks around here.

Inherent in the questions you pose above is the idea that people of diverse backgrounds can't understand one another and don't have shared common values, which is a strange position.

If you can’t understand someone who is BORN different than you and find ANYTHING in common with them or useful difference from fresh perspective, then you are actually just not that intelligent. God made us diverse for a reason and he gave you a brain to understand it.

Your premise is wrong bc you assume diversity automatically means lacking in common values. The importance of family & loved ones is human nature & the basis of most religions are the same. You don't see diversity as a strength bc you don't try to understand diverse cultures

You should be able to share common values with most people. We all want the same things - love, safety, a government we can trust. Also, you’re a disingenuous jerk.

It is well documented. This Alt right hate originated from the success of immigrants in the Tech industry. You didn't see this hate when the oil and tobacco industries were booming. The Alt Right groups think all good things should belong to white people.
-
The hate was amplified by Fox News and idiots like Tucker. More than anything else, the right wing, Fox, Murdoch and Ailes contributed to the divisiveness and hate in this country. Tucker is carrying their tiki torch.

Jesus, dude. Is it really so hard for you to believe that people with different cultural backgrounds, skin tones, and/or sexual orientations can, in fact, understand each other, and often share similar values?

Can you honestly tell me why you've concocted such a dangerous tautology out of flawed logic? You assert that diverse people categorically don't understand each other and have no overlapping values - which is demonstrably false. Overwhelmingly, most people want the same things.
