One of these was about violent protests and one wasn't. This isn't hard.
One group was treated with respect while the other was treated with tear gas and rubber bullets. The context of why the riots started is important. People have a breaking point and this riot is a direct result of that breaking point being pushed for years.

The riots were started by protesters in Minneapolis five days ago. They burned and looted that city before bullets or tear gas were fired. I sympathize with their cause. But when they burn and loot, they're going to be handled differently than those who protest peacefully.

Not entirely true. The vast majority of protesters were peaceful and were not causing trouble. There were some outside groups and outliers that started the issues and were not connected to the protesters. The cops then escalated it in many situations prior to any violence.
