Well that certainly explains the PewDiePie phenomenon... The fart jokes, silly expressions, colorful Swedish curses, etc. define his channel no matter what game/song/reaction he posts. Every bit of it engages a high percentage of his audience and improves his ranking/sub count.

Pewdiepie is a special case because his channel started BEFORE most of the other gaming and reaction chammels on youtube. Thats why hes so popular. People have been subbing to him before markeplier, jacksepticeye or game grumps were even a thing.

see now, this surprises me, mostly because I cannot imagine going to Youtube exclusively wanting to watch videos about just one thing. I enjoy variety, it's why I'm subscribed to multiple people, and if they try something new I always check it out. I guess I'm the exception.
