    During last bull market there were obvious issues w/ blockchains that didn’t clear solutions. That’s changing. Scalability -> Sharding/Rollups Privacy -> zkSnarks Finality -> PoS Volatility -> Stablecoins (Dai) Need all of these together and abstracted to drive real adoption.

    By this definition, 100% of Bitcoins market cap is a result of its monetary premium. Ether, on the other hand, derives its value from utility inside of Ethereum applications. This closer resembles gold as an industrial good than it does as a store of value.

    Bitcoin follows this same pattern, and illustrates why people call it "digital gold". says that Bitcoin will be even better than gold, because it won't even have that 1% industrial use-case. Bitcoin will be a "purely monetary asset" and resemble 'money' in its essence

    has had some good input on this on You can measure golds monetary premium as the size of golds market cap that is outside its use as an industrial commodity. The value of gold is 99% as a SoV asset, and 1% as an industrial commodity.
