It's obvious. If it wasn't MatPat, people wouldn't be complaining. People don't like MatPat because they cringe. MatPat reminds them of their own insecurities subconsciously. People join the hate bandwagon because they want to fit in. Life has been so clear recently.
Most will deny this, but it's true. They don't bother thinking "Why do I cringe when I hear about MatPat". Do you feel embarrassed because he's not acceptable by public standards? Do you attack him for power because you were bullied in the past? Is it because you want to fit in?
