I ask these questions with no bias one way or another. I honestly don’t know the answer because I don’t know corporate law. But: What would it take for Blizzard to divorce itself from Activision? Is it as simple as a buyout? Would it be in Blizzard’s interest to do so?

Great question! I had to look it up! It seems that in July 2008, Activision merged with Vivendi, which included the Blizzard brand. In 2013, Activision Blizzard paid to get out from under Vivendi & became an independent company. So I guess Activision has been involved since ‘08?

I would lean toward MoP w/o knowing for sure. Wrath released in 11/2008 and Cata in 12/2010....based on how they’ve stated their exps are developed, Cata would have been on the drawing boards already.
