I have no idea if it’s reality - but I would say, yes, a lot of players feel that Activision’s “control” or influence is hurting Blizzard’s products.
I ask these questions with no bias one way or another. I honestly don’t know the answer because I don’t know corporate law. But: What would it take for Blizzard to divorce itself from Activision? Is it as simple as a buyout? Would it be in Blizzard’s interest to do so?

Looking at the Acti-Blizz page (https://investor.activisionblizzard.com/ ) 'top games', 1/2 of those are blizz IP. 2 are for-sale on the Blizz launcher (COD, Destiny). That leaves Skylanders (which hasn't put out anything new recently) and Candy Crush? Does anyone have a phone?

on the otherhand, Blizz made up for only 10% of their total MAU's. It would take more than a 'buy-out' to remove themselves from Activision.
