This is a really interesting read. A very thoughtful piece on UK's relationship with Europe from a historical perspective, and what is needed for the road ahead. Enlightening.

Extremely happy that our paper on how differences in mitochondrial activity trigger cell competition has been picked as a preLight. Thank you!

And this contributes to the elimination of cells with mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) mutations during development. Looking forward to hearing what you all think about it! Ends.

We combined single cell RNA-seq of the cells eliminated by cell competition in the embryo with studies in ESCs and the embryo to reveal that cell competition can drive cell selection based on differences in mitochondrial activity. 4/5

And of course it wouldn't have happened without all the lab members (past and present) and other collaborator efforts over the last 8 years, when we fist started working on this idea. 3/5

The fruit of a concerted, intense and very enjoyable collaboration between and our lab, that wouldn't have happened without the patience and insightfulness of Shankar Srinivas. Key to brining it all together were also Nick Jones and Jorg Burgstaller. 2/5

Extremely happy to share our latest pre-print "Differences in mitochondrial activity trigger cell competition during early mouse development" by the fantastic Ana Lima and Gabriele Lubatti. They both did a heroic effort. 1/5

Delighted to share our current vision on how cell competition contributes to tumorigenesis and how it could be harnessed for novel orthogonal anti-cancer therapies. Thanks to the editors and reviewers for their awesome contribution!

Congrats+thanks to + for this collab on how cell-to-cell differences in ATP levels can have profound intrinsic effects on regulatory dynamics. Here, cellular decision making: how many stable states a cell can choose between
