Wasn’t there a scheme where people could go and stay with strangers for aftercare? How about it? Seeing HM is maybe not able?

Just think of the Westminster Social Services team doing a home visit for the means test assessment fo ongoing social/health funded care. Who owns the house: The people you say, who are these people you speak of.....

If Government wants faster cancer diagnosis, then it needs to invest in radiologists, physicians, surgeons, pathologists, allied health professionals, technicians, & diagnostic equipment. is desperately under-resourced in diagnostics. “One-stop shop” is a drop in the ocean

I dislike football, and while that goal was mighty impressive, the best aspect is that the opposition fans applauded. That is a truly wonderful moment, quite unexpected from a sport of such bitter and pointless tribalism. Respect to the fans.

Suspect this particular elderly patient will not get discharged at 2am in his dressing gown, with no transport or support arranged (I've an idea I came across such a story once).

i was thinking exactly that when i read the BBC article, clearly they haven't heard of an early mobilisation/rapid recovery protocol! they can't be too pushed for beds then....

Another way to look at it is, that the cut in children's services is roughly equal to the money tories found in order to buy the DUP support

You do get these cases though, where the family aren’t keen on early discharge. Sometimes the person concerned is a bit difficult to live with and they are enjoying the break....

I hear that 96yr old bloke in London isn’t expected to go home for several days after his hip op? Thought they might have an early supported discharge scheme. Though to be fair, wife elderly too & son away at the moment...

It’s not just mature students with families. I’m 28, no children (can’t afford them in London) but to leave my good job, go back to living in a single damp room and come out worse off and back at the bottom of a career ladder is a huge move! The debt is a step too far.

Not surprised in the slightest. But it’s such a shame. If it wasn’t for the bursary there is no way I would have done my training.

Nursing university applications fall - overall 43,700 applications to nursing courses ⬇️ 10%, of which 31,750 were in England ⬇️ 14%. Fewer mature students applying to study Nursing. 😟

I’d like to see the US research; it appears to align with the research behind the evolution of ReSPECT. On some cases ppl with a DNACPR have been found to have received less active treatment. I know this makes doctors who interpret DNACPR correctly very cross!

Calling all Edinburgh peeps! Please keep an eye out for Mac the Beagle. He’s been missing over 15 hours and his lovely owners REALLY need him home. Thanks for keeping an eye out if you are in the area.

People that live and work in care homes are not second class citizens. They deserve our support.

The 12 day weeks will be what drives me away eventually. I love every bit of my job, but working 12 days in a row is increasingly untenable.
