This is not efficient or effective allocation of resources and I’m genuinely dismayed and angry. How are we housing people in tents at $61k a year?!!
My latest: San Francisco is paying $16.1 million to shelter homeless people in 262 tents placed in lots around the city, where ppl get some services and food. It’s a perfectly efficient way... of spending other people’s hard earned money. People wonder why libertarians and conservatives are anti-big government. They don’t want to give their money / power / freedoms to the people least equipped to wield it.

Permanent Supportive Housing is more cost effective and a proven concept. Let’s fill the vacancies and get these people off the streets.

I would add massive expansion and promotion of drug and mental health treatment to go alongside the PSH. We are just burning money. And eventually we will run out.
