Abiding non-identification with BS like your social status, emotions etc. is also nice - not the full-package deal, but it's very pleasant.

People meditate for all kinds of reasons - improving focus/awareness, pain relief, fancy weird experiences, enlightenment, whathaveyou. But not giving (as much of) a fuck is a *very* nice occasional side-effect.

Haven't stopped caring about things or getting wrapped up in my problems (some people would consider not having that to be a bad thing, anyway). But I can't be fucked to be bothered about everyone else's unless I care and can do something to help. Upset on the internet? Please.

If you're inside the bubble, you'd be amazed at the sheer amount of conditioning keeps you socially compliant in ways that are neither prosocial *generally* nor good for you individually. People are obedience trained from birth. Badly, as a rule.

There are thousands of ways to get out of that, reprogram yourself... but simply realizing that it's not you and you don't have to care is very transformative
