Dogs are violent no? Dogs kill cats for sport, cats kill mice for sport etc. Its Nature. To be nice to an outsider is unnatural, moreover to do so without trying bring him inside your circle is outside human nature.

Humans are extremely violent, much more so than any other species on the planet. That we industrialize a lot of our violence won't alter that. Dogs, as well as many other pack animals, have a much stronger sense of respect than humans. That was my point.

You could even argue that the greater the intelligence, the lesser the respect. Jindos are extremely loyal, but they tend to respect rules much less than other dogs without a lot of training, and will do creative things like jump fences or gnaw through them that other dogs won't.

No no the greater the inteligence the more widespread the respect, also respect for rules is not fear of punishment ie 'training'. Respect for rules needs to alignment of internal values with the rule

I don't punish my dog. I also know a lot of humans who were aversion trained and would unravel behaviorally if they stopped being afraid all the time. What are you basing the claim about intelligence on, out of curiosity?

I think most of our definitions of intelligence are either primitive or unsupported in their core premise. g/IQ is at best a half-decent yardstick; whether scientifically or philosophically, it doesn't get better from there

No it does, ie Vegans. They reached a conclusion through their inteligence that animals should not be food. But they do prove my point that they respect animals only by affinity. Ie no respect for plant life.

You can be certain a dog would not invent a cat clinic. But it also wouldn't invent a factory farm. Either, however, may be rooted in our animal side - amoral gluttony and compassion for others are both mammalian instincts.

I think the first step to control instincts is to invent religion. Religion is a powerful brain programmer. So to answer your previous question on where you draw the line I say its that. When you use inteligence to rewrite your brain: Religion
