Nature dictates violence, Its intelligence that dictates respect. So aliens more advanced would be more respectfull, that doesnt mean that they would not exploit us though.

Dogs are violent no? Dogs kill cats for sport, cats kill mice for sport etc. Its Nature. To be nice to an outsider is unnatural, moreover to do so without trying bring him inside your circle is outside human nature.

Humans are extremely violent, much more so than any other species on the planet. That we industrialize a lot of our violence won't alter that.
Dogs, as well as many other pack animals, have a much stronger sense of respect than humans. That was my point.
