It's basically impossible to use your brain/body well, let alone pleasantly, if you're scared, anxious or holding trauma chronically. Cannot be done.

Or, speaking from recent experience, if you're chronically fatigued - which also seems to default the body to anxious annoyance.

Well, in principle, one should be able to relax into it and keep doing whatever. It's a form of acceptance, while preferences remain.
Not saying it's easy. I can't do it. But I'm beginning to see it.

The step after that is simply acknowledging and dismissing it. I've started being able to do this with minor pain. The Zennies, who call it "penetrating" say it's far harder to do with tiredness than pain.

Pain has never been my issue. Helps that I don't have chronic pain, but I can handle it pretty well.
Exhaustion, stress etc., not so much.

handling it is one thing, being able to say "ok, I've heard you, now go away" is a BIG step. It does build on the steps before, but...

Now that you mention it, I could see if porting the same technique as I use with pain would work.
Hilariously, I learned it from a pretty average fantasy novel: instead of moving away, move awareness into the pain until it pushes through to the other side.

Hrrrm. I would say go into it. But first go as wide as possible. Expand awareness in all directions, the pain/whatever, becomes small, then very gently move into the pain, acknowledge "ok". Brain goes "right, info received", doesn't float to attention.
