The problem is not on the issue of stopping nazis, but who gets to decide what is or isn't a nazi. You think the US govt. is mature for that? We don't even have that kind of legislation in Norway. It's easy as hell to abuse.

It's easy to forget the trajectory here too. Twitter bans Milo, people rejoice. Concluding that people are okay with bans, they persist in banning. Weeks later, they are banning more people - for talking back to nazis.

Yes, but we're not talking about Antifa, here. We're talking about the State. There are Reasons you don't cede this power fully to the state. Nazism is one of them. By all means, punch up & counterdemonstrate Nazis. I'll cheer. But the US is already fascistic enough.

I know, but if you look at the EU countries struggling with nazism you have: UK Germany & Austria (they never left) Ukraine (thank the US/EU, I guess, considering they support Nazis in gvt.) Hungary + Some Balkan countries, for misc. reasons.

Every country affected has had either massive downturns in the economy, a long history with Nazism, recent political upheaval and/or mass erosion in civil liberties. Nazis are vultures. They will only take over if a country is already half-dead.

Plus,, you don't even -need- nazis. Poland does not have a big Nazi problem, but aside from the UK/Ukraine/Hungary/Austria (apparently the letter U is bad), they're the most fascistic country in the EU. Massive loss in rule of law, economic stability etc. in the past 10 years.

Every person with much pigment in the skin I've met in this country has been attacked/threatened/ostracized, they are terrified of all migrants (except ukrainians for some reason), nationalism is a massive problem and they are eager supporters of Trump & Nato... But not nazis.

This is why I hate suggestions like illegalizing rallies. I'm fine if a few dudes and dudettes in masks show up to counterprotest or beat the crap out of nazis (or are we pretending those nazis don't murder people, given the opportunity?) But the State? No thanks.
