Musk has Asperger's. I think it's a bit much to expect him to be very engaged with political issues that don't concern his interests.
(As opposed to discussing the impact of him not noticing these things, which is obviously not impacted by whatever his mental state might be.)

Even when they do concern him, he doesn't seem to have a great track record. Complaints about working conditions at Tesla, and his reaction to his workers wanting to unionise, for instance.
