Agreed. It's an effect whether it's predicated on illusion/distortion or not.
It's absurd how many expensive "treatments" exist that do nothing placebo doesn't do, but are touted as "scientific" in some way while placebo is not.

As to the former point, you'd have to be crazy as most people understand it to feasibly have any knowledge of that. And then, who would believe you?

Honestly I lean towards a solipsistic view of reality, sorry ;) 'Receiving' transmission, like any phenomenal activity is entirely subjective & of the nature of pure appearance, no other, only Self. So in all cases call it what u will. On this basis is any sensory input placebo?

(Was this one meant for me?)
All I was saying is that people would denounce any attempt at telling them a truth that disagrees with their experience, so stuff like energy transmissions will remain off the mainstream unless something BIG happens.
I have no ontological position.

Yeah, well, hopefully someone else has more interesting opinions than me.
I only categorically refuse to believe what I'm told, and doubt most of the things I "believe" about reality as well, so I rarely bring much to the table when it strays into this territory. :P
