20 years ago, even 15, there were still plausible solution sets that didn't require half the human race to die. I do not believe there are, any longer.

I'd make a joke about this being known as "getting old", but I know you're probably right - at least in order of magnitude. Humans are too clueless to get it before we start losing population in the actual millions to catastrophes - at which point we'll exaggerate them. Yay.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with getting old. It's just an analytical position and it's based on my understanding of the systems. If I had understood what I understand now about humans 20 years ago, I could have said it then. I sort of did, actually.
