Does anyone else find it easier to stick to goals if you don't tell anyone else what they are?

Yeah, it's actually a well-studied phenomenon. Telling people gives you a feeling like you've actually done something, dillutes motivation.
Don't tell.

That's certainly true for me. Some people swear by telling others to keep them accountable.

Yeah, I know the kind. I think those people have serious anxiety issues, but that's just my opinion.

Generally I think just do whatever works. Personally I don't like the idea that exercising my will is dependent on others.

Likewise, but I was raised badly (lots of unnecessary rules) and tend to despise accountability-based motivation.
Whatever works is right, IMO.
