Indeed - too many Buddhists become entrenched in the view/s and cultural norms of their school.
Many people also seem to fail to recognise that some of their strongest views are not their own, but the cohesive tensions of the sphere of religious institution.
And so on....

Studying comparative religion gave me a perspective that I wish more people could access.
The way in which many people conceive of their own religious identity is quite often childish and limiting.

I'm down with the idea that people tend not to know what they are talking about, but I find many Buddhist practitioners impossible to talk to.

If you don't buy into their very specific concept of meditation and liberation, they treat it as a case of you being *objectively* wrong.

Luckily these guys are not the majority, or there would hardly be any point to talking to anyone on here. But there are quite a few.
