Indeed - too many Buddhists become entrenched in the view/s and cultural norms of their school.
Many people also seem to fail to recognise that some of their strongest views are not their own, but the cohesive tensions of the sphere of religious institution.

Studying comparative religion gave me a perspective that I wish more people could access.
