I always wondered why those fancy high-tech libraries in sci-fi were so user unfriendly. I suppose Rule of Cool applies in real life, too.

The best libraries and used book stores, imo, are cramped right up to the edge of inaccessibility--but still on the "useable" side. This one's too spread, especially vertically.

For "usable", I should probably have "perusable". It's the wide open space that's galling for me as well.
