So seems I figured out the issue with the @cuttingmachine_ exercises: I just needed to do twice as much in a day.

Total alignment with Vinay here. It's macro parenting. Being a parent doesn't make you special, but that doesn't mean it's unimportant work.
I would kill to protect my daughter, if need be.
That might even be the most ordinary thing about me as a person.

It can become something hubristic - like helicopter parenting - but personally I'd say that's a bit outside the purview of this discussion.
