Hm.
Past 20 or so months have been pretty much nonstop hardship punctuated by some nice things happening once in a while, w/a lot at stake.

One completely unexpected side-effect is I'm no longer able to take my parents entirely seriously as adults. That was very much not expected

Funny that you mentioned comfort, because for me it's been just as much a lack of willingness to guard their own peace that I've reacted to.
