Research seems to indicate a whole clusterfuck of interactions b/w neuroticism, openness (as in big 5) and IQ.

IQ itself seems to be a highly flawed construct, more like an emergent property of multiple trait than a trait-in-itself.

People I know who scored higher than me in general IQ have trait distributions so alien to mine it's almost weird.

A more interesting possibility is that IQ measures a cluster of traits up to a threshold, past which more factors are involved.

I know the approximate IQs of several friends of mine. Some proximates I can easily relate to, intellectually. Others feel entirely alien.
