The "abuse" of this tech is very specific, huge, and a very vulnerable and large victim class--children--not found elsewhere like this.

State monopoly on force begets protection for paedophiles just as much as it begets protection from highwaymen and pirates, unfortunately.

A conversation that comes up frequently wrt blockchain is how tech is not immune to the law (see

, to name a couple).

What I don't see mentioned as often is that law is in effect the more powerful *technology*, so long as it is backed by state/private power.

The law is code - people code - and is far more difficult to alter with lasting effect than any computer-based tech... for the moment.

There is a theoretical inflection point springing from political collapse, coinciding with mass adoption of blockchain, continued AI dev.

If the code of law keeps devaluing from creeping fascism/fiscal cronyism, while the blockchain keeps gaining ground in governance...

The cascade might never stop. But, people are unpredictable. The tech might be entirely co-opted by govt., like the internet has been.
