Sounds great. Can you define "transe"? Did you get pointed focus with loss of awareness of other things around you?

Intensely pointed awareness, but also altered consciousness when zooming out between songs: crystal-clear, higher resolution than normal.

Altered perception of time, loss of sense of self... some of the usual suspects.

Towards the peak also started feeling intense waves of energy throughout the body, like a strong chemical effect or being in love as a teen.

Accompanied by the entire body feeling cooled down, then warmed up, then cooled down.

Sounds like you found a great spot to "retreat" when crap-overload happens. Thank you for sharing.

Well, I suspect there's more to it than just the technique. I'm used to entering states like that after weeks regular meditation.

Or after a several hours long sitting on top of regular practice.
This was just there, almost right away.

Mean no insult. Rather, did you approach the new method with a curiosity that you normally might lack?
1
I didn't feel insulted. :)
Lots of potential causes. I did feel more enthusiastic about practicing than I have for a long time, though.
and that matters, yes. Still a good result on a new technique can lead to continuing.

It helps that it isn't boring. Having a young kid entails a lot of time spent bored. Too much. Makes sitting meditation demotivating.
