"Green" groups already did this with nuclear power and I think the best evidence is that had a huge cost.

The Japs are covering up that their disaster has also had a similar effect. The aftershocks will outlive the beneficiaries by centuries.

I think the biggest aftershock may be Germany etc retiring their near zero-CO2 nukes and upping their dirty coal use.

I've heard some very positive things about solar recently, but we're still a long way off it being a primary source of electricity.

Believe me, I'd love renewables to be the answer right now - I get most of my electricity from wind turbines - but we're not there, yet.

Absolutely. My #1 concern is demonising technology and using fear to persuade people. I think it's unhelpful and immoral.
