Really? I always felt reddit users were exceedingly petty or shallow in their interactions. Maybe it's a sub-by-sub thing, though.

yeah they can be. it def varies a lot sub by sub. maybe i'm just subscribed to some fairly benign ones

i was mainly referring to the general vibe i got from scrolling on my homepage and reading posts/links tho too -- not so much comments
