I don't think Norway sucks. I do think many people exaggerate its strengths. Social democracy is a step up the ladde, not much more.

I agree. If you're not earning above average or suffering from a strong allergy to liberal values or cold weather, it's as good as it gets.

But my own values long for a society without 40 hour work weeks and statecorporafabricated needs & values (big problems in Norway).

Reason #1 for not going back to Norway is child protection services are out of control, taking children off European immigrants constantly.

Ironically it's one of the few bad things the state does very little of in Poland. We reported some abusive neighbours. They received help.

(We had to research it carefully to ascertain if we wouldn't end up harming the kid worse. The abuse was audible daily yelling. For hours.)

A Norwegian family has asylum in Poland b/c the state took their kid for a month.
Because the mom visited a psychologist, 15 years before.
Norway is being sued by Brussels this year. Will see how things develop afterwards. If Barnevernet gets curbed, maybe it makes sense to go.
