Point being, self-actualization seems to correlate with having your needs untended to, rather less than with having it all covered.

we're really talking enlightenment. Though enlightenment says that Kings are very similiar to enlightened people.

i guess Maslow did add "self-transcendence" above self-acualization in later years. better fit for enlightenment than self-actualization

like i said hierarchy model is imperfect. agree ppl don't _have_ to address needs linearly. still think it captures something important

for most of human history virtually all humans were engaged in constant struggle for survival. now, huge masses of ppl are free of this

and many of them don't know what to do w themselves bc built-in purpose is removed. same reason retired ppl often become depressed
