Point being, self-actualization seems to correlate with having your needs untended to, rather less than with having it all covered.

we're really talking enlightenment. Though enlightenment says that Kings are very similiar to enlightened people.

i guess Maslow did add "self-transcendence" above self-acualization in later years. better fit for enlightenment than self-actualization

like i said hierarchy model is imperfect. agree ppl don't _have_ to address needs linearly. still think it captures something important

It maps basic human needs fairly well. The mistake was putting a complex system in a hierarchy. The interdependencies are omnidirectional.
