we're really talking enlightenment. Though enlightenment says that Kings are very similiar to enlightened people.

Something of the driving force behind getting towards enlightenment seems to be discontent. Contentment, if anything, lessens the drive.

& ppl w their basic survival needs met can be profoundly discontented/depressed. and they have a lot more time to think about enlightenment

The delusion that thinking of that sort matters is a key employment of those who have their basic needs met. Not a luxury for the poor.
