State control is the cornerstone. Neoliberalism attempts to reduce *individual* state control, but it's predicated on states practicing it.

Sure, but if we never did anything because everything always corrupts anyway, we would be stood still.
What we can do is radically adapt to new environment, which will be better than what we have now. When that corrupts, we'll go again :)
It's not a coincidence that the shared ambitions of fascists and totally-not-fascists (state communists) has been total global conquest.
