Key premise is simple, however: the appropriateness of any given path is dependent on the temperament of the person taking it.

Although some thoroughly degenerate pseudo-paths lead nowhere good for anyone, many much-maligned paths are effective under the right shoes.

Either poor phrasing on my part or just a difference in conceptual spheres. Certainly that is true in an absolute sense, but to get there...
... that means crossing some uncharted territory. That's how it was for me, at least. Maybe it works differently for others.
