Addicts have trouble kicking their habit because the habit itself makes their life suck so much that short-term, only the habit helps.

Regardless, quitting is always the right call.
Working on your strength is similar.
But saying "you're like an addict" doesn't help.

I understand enough about addiction to know that addicts are people. Addiction is a habit.
To most people, that sounds like an insult.

It's not my intent to insult anyone, as addiction and aversion are both very normal parts of primate behaviour.
