Lastly, the conservative position puts certain implications on "our wives" etc. that others don't. It is by no means a consensus.

I mean to say, plenty of people would say "my wife, daughter" etc. indicatively, not possessively. "This woman here."

And I am as far from Christian as you can get, am not married and very much love my daughter w/o possessiveness. :)

Besides which, even if I were, would it suddenly be a bad thing if I opposed rape? I hardly think so.
