Here in Poland it seems to me like people have an unhealthy obsession with shame. Everything is shameful. But ppl here rarely feel guilty.

I suspect they feel similarly about my cultural background. Shame bothers me little - who cares what anyone thinks? - but guilt is a problem

To me it seems like the height of idiocy to care less about putting people's lives at risk than being looked down on at home or at work.
