True, although Facebook deserves all the bad publicity they can get on this one. But the label 'editor' is telling.

Yep. We have this medium to voice the users opinion. But we happily hand that over to Google, Facebook etc. Weird.

Convenience is the graveyard of many good, secure practices. Why be sensible when you can be done in a hurry? One stop shop-ism.
Google has the best search algo, so we let them censor. Facebook has the biggest user base, so we let them censor. Ease of use.
