it's not clear to me that "society" in that sense exists outside of shared religious beliefs.

hahahaha I think the problem wasn't the VC (ahem!) but a misunderstanding of feminism.

question is: what now? What's the plan? Not more poking at symptoms.

New moral standards for all actors involved. Fundamental rework of system, not revolution as such.

yes. In history religion was vessel for that. I hope we have left that behind. If not, I become priest.

I think you can do without religion, but meme culture "fixes" discomfort ("share/like for visibility!")

At which point it would have to be shipped to people as a fundamental right, like personal freedom was.

and that's one of my projects. Self-owned global identity. Working title freedentity and TCP/ID

Oh, I understand now. Under the current system, states *own* our identity as "citizenship". Nauseating.
yep. And they can take your identity away. Snowden. 77000 passports in Turkey. Etc.
even worse: you lose fundamental human rights when you have no citizenship. Horrible effect.
so self-owned identity turns this around. Now YOU declare to be citizen of country X. Simple trick.
UN has recognised this and made plan to give e/one legal identity. Google ID2020.
We go beyond that. Global identity for global democracy to solve global issues based on individuals
