It really does look like there's a good chance that US hegemony will be done in less than a year. All the things that people like me have been warning about economically and geopolitically are being triggered by the response to Ukraine. It's amazing. Amazing.

Yes. It's also why Iran sanctions on oil/gas are about to be removed. Get Iranian supplies onto the market.
I'm not sure it's enough, but it's to mitigate.

Feels like sanctioning the state-that-is-essentially-an-oil-and-gas-company when your entire bloc (except us) are net importers is maybe not a very smart move.

it'll cascade thru a lot more than gas prices. Especially if they stop selling us all sorts of minerals for which they are the primary or secondary source. China, meanwhile, has just locked in a junior ally which fixes almost all of is major vulnerabilities.

certain parts of Canadian society are going to do very well out of this too, but not the majority, it won't get to them. Gonna fuck up our internal relationships too, empowers all the nastiest assholes in politics.
