one might experience it differently if you're near the event horizon of the capital-owning class, where they're cashing out and running away, leaving a class of overqualified second tier minions with no one to parasitize, but all I see is the Great Resignation and job vacancy.

I think one segment of the ownership class believes they can ride it out with wage hikes and incentives, while another believes the game is up and you'll never again be able to suppress labor *enough* for profits to return, let alone at projected rates.
